Coaching Agile Development Teams

Agile has a lot in common with solution focused (SF) principles. Following
the principles of the Agile Manifesto "At regular intervals, the team
reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its
behavior accordingly." In agile project management methodologies like
Scrum this is done every month in a team meeting known as Sprint
Retrospective. I argue that SF techniques like future perfect and
scaling fit very well into this agile practice and that they can help
to make this team meetings more effective. We will have a closer look
at a tool used in agile retrospectives known as Team Radar which is
closely related to the sf use of multiple scales and discuss, how this
tool can be used in a sf manner. The Team Radar is also an excellent
tool to visualize improvement goals and helps the team to be adjust
its behaviour accordingly. It should be clear that these practices
could also be used in a different context such as organizational
change projects.
